Who are your favorite KiptonART artists? Why?

I like Jade Doskow - I love the way she captures the light in her photographs. I also like Paul Robinson and the collage-like feel of his work. My husband collects photography and I always had gravitated to drawings but I find more and more I'm getting excited about photography. I also like Stephen Yates and JS Tully.

What is the last exhibition you attended?

The Bronzino Drawings at the Met. As I mentioned above I love drawings. My dream is to one day have a whole wall covered in drawings of different shapes and sizes.

How would you describe the décor in your home?

The décor in my apartment is a reflection of my travels and my belief that there is no real formula for creating a beautiful space. I mix high and low, old and new, etc. My tastes have been greatly influenced by the time I have spent in India and Turkey. I love the beautiful embroidered fabrics that you find in that part of the world and tend to gravitate to more earthy tones: browns, oranges, greens. I appreciate different materials. I had a parchment and rosewood dining table made and instead of chairs we have little industrial metal stools for seats.

Is buying art an emotional or tactical process for you?

Emotional, certainly.

What was the first piece of art that you ever purchased?

The first piece of art I ever purchased was a Michael Ray Charles painting – it hangs in the entryway of my apartment. Actually, long before that I purchased a small drawing on the street in Paris that reminds me of a Matisse.
